Shift Manager (Transport)

Location: Purfleet, Essex

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum

Working Hours: 03:30 - 16:00, 4 days on / 4 days off

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shift Manager to oversee our client's transport operations in Purfleet. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth running of their fleet and driver team, delivering excellent service to their customers.

• Lead your shift and manage up to 50 drivers, ensuring compliance, conduct, and performance standards are met
• Ensure all scheduled jobs are completed, rescheduling work as needed and resolving any issues that arise
• Conduct driver debriefs at the end of AM routes and start of PM routes, addressing issues such as contamination, overweight bins, and overfilled sacks
• Respond to real-time customer queries and CRM/ERP actions
• Handle minor disciplinary matters and conduct 'Return to Work' meetings
• Support managers with ad hoc duties and holiday cover

• Experience in route planning and shift management
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• IT literate, with proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
• Good geographical knowledge of London for route planning
• Fleet management experience, including defect resolution and maintenance coordination
