Job Description - Shift Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector
Shifts rotations (4 weeks rotation of each pattern) Days, Twilight, Nights

My client, a global manufacturing enterprise who is committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations, aiming to stay ahead of competitors and secure future success.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be a crucial part of the Inspection Department, ensuring high standards of quality and product traceability. You will be responsible for inspecting components, maintaining records, and supporting the QA team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform first-off, patrol, and final view inspections.
Generate first article inspection reports.
Manually handle weights up to 25kg.
Use computer equipment for data recording and maintenance.
Support internal audits and liaise with Production Managers and Quality teams on corrective actions.
Contribute to a team environment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Using fine measurement tools such as Vernia, Calliper, Micrometre, CMM, Pin gauge, Shadow Graph, complete physical checks on measurements.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Proficiency with computer equipment for data purposes.
Competence in reading engineering drawings and quality plans.
Skilled in using inspection equipment such as micrometres and verniers.
Methodical approach to systems and understanding the importance of standards.
Decision-making skills and confidence to act within given boundaries.
Excellent personal organization, time management, and communication skills.
Experience and Knowledge:
Competent use of general measurement equipment (verniers, micrometres, etc.).
Prior experience in assembly, inspection, and manufacturing is advantageous.
Inspection experience in milling, turning, and welding disciplines.
Familiarity with CMM operations, Faro arm, and Tessa scan is beneficial.
Experience in NDT testing is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Time-served Mechanical Engineer or equivalent qualification (HNC / HND)
Working Hours:
Days: Monday to Thursday (7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.) Friday (7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Twilight: Monday to Thursday (4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) Friday (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
Nights: Monday to Thursday (10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.)
The successful candidate must have the flexibility to work across multiple shifts.
