Shift Supervisor

Shift Supervisor, Coatbridge, £30,000 per annum

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading UK brand for a Transport Shift Supervisor to join their team at their Coatbridge depot.

In this role, you'll oversee daily transport operations, managing drivers, vehicles, and the supporting warehouse team to ensure deliveries reach customers safely, on time, and to high service standards. You'll ensure regulatory compliance, maintain vehicle standards, and drive operational performance.

This is a Monday to Friday role working rotating shifts:

• Early Shift: 05:30 - 14:00
• Late Shift: 14:00 - 22:30

• Lead and supervise drivers and warehouse operatives across your shift.
• Plan and allocate resources daily, managing staff during peak periods.
• Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of shifts, sharing key information, resolving issues, and ensuring service levels are met.
• Handle day-to-day transport issues, including managing any failed deliveries to achieve same-day resolution where possible.
• Respond to customer queries swiftly online and in-person.
• Oversee driver hours, licences, CPC compliance, and Working Time Directive adherence.
• Investigate all vehicle or transport-related incidents promptly, reporting outcomes and taking corrective action where needed.
• Conduct appraisals, identify training needs, and support ongoing development of your team.
• Maintain accurate records for training, compliance, and appraisals.
• Collaborate with HR when handling investigations or performance management.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience managing teams in a logistics, transport, or warehouse environment.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and vehicle compliance requirements.
• Ability to motivate, develop, and support teams to meet targets and deliver excellent service.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve operational issues.
• Good IT skills, including working with operational systems and Excel.
• CPC, IOSH and Counterbalance FLT qualifications are desirable but not essential.

• Permanent contract with a salary of £30,000 per annum.
• Monday to Friday shifts with no weekend working.
