Shift Team Leader

We are recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing operation in Brandon.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing the team, maintaining production levels and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and performance throughout the shift.

Hours: Monday to Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Pay Rate £15-£18 per hour

Key Responsibilities

* Allocate workloads and ensure production targets are achieved.

* Monitor productivity, quality, downtime and waste.

* Provide leadership, coaching and support to team members.

* Assist with training and development of employees.

* Ensure company health & safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed.

* Monitor production machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.

* Carry out basic fault finding and escalate technical issues when required.

* Ensure the correct materials and feedstocks are being used.

* Monitor product quality and identify any issues outside specification.

* Complete shift reports, production records and handover information.

* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and GMP.

* Report accidents, equipment faults and damage promptly.

* Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

* Provide hands-on support to the production team when required.

Essential Experience & Skills

* Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar production role.

* Experience within continuous production operations.

* Previous experience within a recycling or plastics environment.

* Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced production environment.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

* Good understanding of health & safety procedures.

* Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.

* Ability to monitor production performance and work towards agreed targets.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

* Experience of plastics film recycling.

* Knowledge of plastics film extrusion, processing or converting.

* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / 5S principles.

* Experience operating or working around extruders, granulators, cutter compactors or ancillary production equipment.

* FLT qualification.

* First Aid or Fire Warden training.

* IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
