O&M Plant – Shift Team Leader
Location: Atherstone
Salary: £58,662 + annual bonus equivalent to an additional month’s salary
Shifts: Rotating days and nights, with scheduled training and holiday-cover periods

H9 Talent Solutions is recruiting a Shift Team Leader to support the safe and efficient operation of an industrial processing facility.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced shift leader or senior plant operator ready to take the next step. You’ll lead the shift team, monitor plant performance and work closely with maintenance colleagues to keep operations running safely and reliably.

The opportunity

Alongside the salary and annual bonus, the rota offers opportunities for extended breaks. During designated periods, employees can potentially arrange an 18-day break using 10 days’ annual leave, subject to approval and training requirements.

Your responsibilities

Lead and organise the shift team to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

Operate and monitor plant through the SCADA system, identifying and responding to operational issues.

*

Manage permit-to-work activities, including mechanical and electrical isolations and lock-off procedures.

*

Maintain compliance with environmental permits and site health and safety procedures.

*

Respond calmly and effectively to incidents and emergency situations.

*

Coordinate with maintenance teams and contractors during repairs, planned maintenance and outages.

*

Use the maintenance management system to record issues and support future maintenance planning.

*

Train and mentor shift colleagues and contribute to plant improvements.

About you

*

Experience within power generation, energy, waste treatment, utilities or a comparable industrial process environment.

*

Previous shift leadership or supervisory experience, or substantial senior operator experience with readiness to progress.

*

Familiarity with SCADA or DCS control systems.

*

Practical knowledge of permit-to-work systems, isolations and safe working procedures.

*

Strong communication skills and confidence making decisions under pressure.
