Shift Technician

Job Title: Shift Technician

Location: Birmingham

Shifts: Rotating Shifts

We are seeking a flexible, hands-on Shift Technician with a background in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical engineering to join a multi-skilled maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with Production to resolve breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance checks and respond to mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.

Support planned and unplanned maintenance shutdowns, minimising downtime.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Work collaboratively with Production to optimise equipment performance and reliability.

Complete necessary documentation including risk assessments, permits, and shift handovers.

To carry out routine checks and liaise with the Production Team Leaders and Operators

Contribute to improvement projects and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.

Candidate requirements

Recognised qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Proven experience in a similar maintenance/technician role, ideally in a production environment.

Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Ability to work across disciplines and adapt to changing technologies.

Good communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
