Shuttering Carpenter

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Shuttering Carpenter to join a construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for constructing and installing formwork (shuttering) that shapes concrete structures for commercial, residential, or industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure the safe, precise, and efficient creation of molds that form foundations, walls, columns, and other structural elements. Duties

* Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine formwork requirements.

* Construct, assemble, and install formwork using hand tools and power tools with precision and safety in mind.

* Ensure the proper placement and alignment of formwork to achieve accurate concrete shapes and dimensions.

* Use welding skills to reinforce formwork structures when necessary for stability and durability.

* Perform heavy lifting of materials such as timber, steel, and concrete components to facilitate efficient assembly.

* Conduct inspections of formwork during construction to identify issues or defects, making adjustments as needed.

* Collaborate with other trades such as masonry, roofing, and mechanical teams to coordinate project tasks smoothly.

* Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

* Operate machinery related to formwork installation when required, including mechanical lifting equipment or scaffolding.

* Assist in dismantling formwork after concrete has set, ensuring safe removal without damaging the structure.

Experience

* Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within commercial or industrial construction projects.

* Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, formwork systems, and construction safety standards.

* Skilled in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, saws; power tools including drills and saws; welding equipment; and heavy machinery.

* Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of structural reinforcement methods like welding and masonry work.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions precisely.

* Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, climbing scaffolding, and working in various weather conditions.

* Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred for transporting materials or equipment when necessary.
