Shuttering Carpenter & Striker

4 Shuttering Carpenters & 4 Strikers Needed – Colchester, Essex – Start Monday 19th October

We are currently recruiting 4 experienced Shuttering Carpenters and 4 Strikers for a construction project in Colchester, Essex, starting Monday, 19th October 2026, for approximately 2 months.

We are looking for reliable, hardworking and experienced operatives with a strong background in reinforced concrete (RC frame) construction, formwork installation and striking.

The Role

Shuttering Carpenters (4 positions)

The work will primarily involve installing, assembling and securing formwork for concrete structures, including walls, columns, beams and slabs.

Candidates must be confident reading and interpreting construction drawings, working accurately to specifications and completing all tasks to a high standard.

Previous experience working on RC frame projects is essential.

Strikers (4 positions)

The work will involve safely dismantling and removing formwork and temporary supports once concrete has achieved the required strength and clearance has been given.

Candidates must have previous experience in striking operations, handling formwork materials and working safely as part of an RC frame construction team.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or Striker

Proven experience working on UK construction sites

*

Experience on RC frame and concrete construction projects

*

Ability to read and understand construction drawings (Shuttering Carpenters)

*

Good knowledge of formwork installation or dismantling procedures

*

Valid CSCS card – essential

*

Relevant references – essential

*

Own tools where applicable and full PPE

*

Good understanding of site health and safety procedures

*

Reliable, punctual and hardworking

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

*

Right to work in the UK

*

Available to start Monday, 19th October
