Site Assistant

Location: Redbridge
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time – 6 Weeks
Hours: 30 hours per week
Start: ASAP
Pay: £110 - £120 a day 

Horizon Teachers are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive School Caretaker / Site Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Redbridge. You will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the school premises remain safe, secure, clean and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and routine checks across the school site.
• Support with opening, closing and securing the school buildings when required.
• Monitor health & safety, security and maintenance issues, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Assist with cleaning duties, deep cleans and maintaining internal and external areas.
• Support with deliveries, moving furniture and setting up rooms for school events and lettings.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance, cleaning or a similar practical role.
• Good general maintenance and DIY skills, with the ability to carry out minor repairs.
• A good understanding of workplace health & safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Previous school experience and an Enhanced DBS would be advantageous.
