Site Director - Chorley

The Company
We are pleased to be supporting Dalziel Ltd in their search for a Site Director for their busy distribution site in Chorley.
As a wholesale company delivering service, quality and value to over 5000 retail butchery outlets, Dalziel operates from a network of 12 strategically located local depots the length and breadth of the UK from Aberdeen in the North through to Exeter in the South and Newport into Wales.
Dalziel ltd is a family run business, owned and managed by the 3rd generation of the Dalziel family from their Head office in Bellshill, Glasgow. The 750 strong team pride themselves on their customer service and ability to support small independent operators as well as larger businesses with a wide variety of products, from seasonings, ingredients and meats to packaging, machinery and sundries.

The Role
The Site Director will have full accountability for the highly accredited BRC Chorley site

Some of the key accountabilities will include:
• Develop and implement business strategies to boost company performance.
• Monitor and manage operational costs
• Ensure productive working practices are in place to drive revenue growth
• Lead senior management team across operations and customer order management departments
• Identify and respond to customer needs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines
• Report to the board on performances, challenges and growth opportunities.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and compliant work environment.
• Recruit, train, support and develop key personnel.

The Person
• Proven experience of managing a busy distribution site, with multisite experience desirable
• Understanding of a retail customer base, with multisite experience desirable.
• Confidence in their ability and decision making but also able to provide coaching and advice in the right way to make the most of the team’s experience and ensure engagement in the continued success of the site.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
• Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic and business plans.
• Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
