Site Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Site Engineer to join our team on an exciting hotel project in Chessington.

Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will provide technical and engineering support throughout the construction and installation phases, helping ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

This is a site-based role suited to someone with practical construction experience who is comfortable coordinating with contractors, subcontractors and project teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day engineering and technical support on site.

* Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and technical information.

* Assist with setting out and ensure works are completed accurately and in accordance with approved drawings.

* Monitor site works and identify technical issues, discrepancies or potential delays.

* Liaise with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

* Coordinate technical information between site teams and relevant departments.

* Carry out site inspections and support quality control activities.

* Maintain accurate site records, reports and relevant project documentation.

* Monitor progress against the project programme and raise issues where required.

* Support the management of RFIs and technical queries.

* Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant health & safety requirements.

* Assist with snagging, quality checks and project completion activities.

* Attend site and project meetings as required.

Essential Requirements

* HNC, HND or BEng in Civil Engineering, or another relevant qualification.

* Valid CSCS Card.

* SSSTS qualification.

* Minimum 2 years' relevant site engineering experience.

* Good understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.

* Strong communication and coordination skills.

* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work effectively with contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

* Comfortable working in a busy, site-based project environment.

Desirable

* Previous experience working on hotel, commercial, fit-out or refurbishment projects.

* Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades.

* Experience working on fast-paced construction projects with demanding programmes.
