Site Engineer (Water)

Role Purpose: The Site Engineer (Water) provides the technical setting out, engineering control, and quality
assurance for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely under the Site Agent, they ensure that
structural elements, pipelines, and mechanical interfaces are executed exactly to design specifications and
engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Setting Out & Surveying: Establish precise site control and execute accurate setting out for deep drainage, water
mains, pumping stations, and reinforced concrete structures using total stations, GPS, and leveling equipment.
• Quality Assurance (QA): Maintain rigorous quality control records, including pre-pour inspections, concrete slump
tests, pipeline pressure test certificates, and structural alignment checks. Manage the 'As-Built' documentation
process.

• Technical Interpretation: Review, interpret, and cross-reference engineering drawings and specifications.
Proactively identify design clashes or anomalies and raise formal Requests for Information (RFIs) to the design
team.

• Site Supervision & Safety: Assist the Site Agent in supervising direct labor and sub-contractors. Ensure all
activities adhere strictly to the Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and environmental protection
protocols.

• Material & Plant Management: Take accurate material take-offs from drawings, coordinate material requisitions
(e.g., concrete orders, specialized pipe fittings), and monitor engineering plant utilization on site.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• Qualifications: BEng, BSc, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering or a closely related construction discipline.

• Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in setting out using robotic total stations and GNSS/GPS survey gear.
Competency in AutoCAD for checking and extracting data is highly advantageous.

• Experience: Minimum 23 years of site-based experience within civil engineering, ideally with direct exposure to
deep drainage, utilities, bulk earthworks, or water infrastructure frameworks.

• Certifications: Valid CSCS Card (White/Gold/Blue) and a Full UK Driving License are mandatory. Possession of
an EUSR National Water Hygiene Card or DOMS accreditation is highly desirable.

• Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, robust problem-solving skills, and the communication skills required to
collaborate effectively with site agents, design teams, and sub-contractors.
