Site Engineering Manager

The Site Engineering Managers role will be to develop their team, their departments procedures and systems giving a world class engineering service. Delivering a service that promotes a H&S culture & delivering a maintenance service that provides an efficient manufacturing environment

Duties & Responsibilities

 ·       Develop a focussed maintenance culture across a chilled & frozen added value function

o   A detailed PPM system that includes

§  Time Based Maintenance

§  FMEA

§  Risk Based Maintenance

§  Condition Based Maintenance

§  Predictive Maintenance

  ·       Deliver a World Class Health & Safety Culture By

o   Understanding our statutory obligations and ensuring they are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner

o   Ensuring there is a risk based culture to the tasks undertaken

o   Culture change leading to a safety first mindset

o   Developing departmental systems that promote H&S and deliver workable H&S processes

 ·       Deliver The Financial Controls To

o   Ensure stores stocks are managed via a risk based assessment

o   Deliver departmental spending to agreed budgets

o   Promote engineering incentives that contribute to delivering savings within the business

o   Ensure we buy at best price or best value

 ·       Develop People to

o   Ensure we have the correct shift patterns that minimise cost but deliver maximum efficiency

o   Develop a costed departmental training matrix that delivers H&S requirements, business needs, personal development and departmental contribution

o   Set up and deliver structured communications through 1 to 1’s, departmental meetings

o   Monitor the engineering team to ensure they are delivering the principles you set out to deliver

o   Ensure standards are department wide and not just the Engineering Managers standard

o   Do things right even when no one is there

 ·       Improve Departmental Development By

o   Setting up Hi 5’s Across the department reviewing on a regular basis

o   Communicating across all functions within the business

o   Becoming a key member of the manufacturing teams on site

o   Moving to a 1 team culture across Fresh, Chilled & The wider business

Familiarity of chilled food manufacturing

·       Familiarity of frying lines

·       Ability to develop and interrogate CMMS

·       Ability to utilise Microsoft office

·       Ability to interrogate financial data

·       Ability to write & deliver reports

·       Time Served Engineer
