The successful candidate will support the site HSE Lead in ensuring that the GTC-UK is operationally compliant with all GKN’s HSE policies and procedures along with current legislation. The role involves working on a varied portfolio of projects across multiple disciplines so a flexible and dynamic approach is essential. This role will also offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to grow their skills and knowledge through working on cutting edge technology & engineering projects by supporting the projects through machinery installations, development activities and operational process control. The role is ideally suited to a candidate with a pro-active, ‘can do’ and flexible approach to work. The role will also offer the opportunity for the candidate to support the implementation of industry recognised accreditations at the Global Technology Centre. How You'll Contribute The Site HSE Advisor will contribute to the following: Support the HSE Lead as directed with day to day operational activities and specific project related tasks Implement GKN Aerospace HSE policies and procedures throughout the site Complete and maintain required HSE documentation including risk assessments and CoSHH assessments Report and manage all incidents on HSE data collection system Provide reports as required on site HSE performance Ensure accurate and complete tracking of internal HSE metrics, plans, recordkeeping and corrective actions Working with the technology teams and equipment suppliers, ensure that all relevant GKN HSE requirements are captured in the respective GTC equipment specifications Ensure employees are trained and competent in relation to HSE Ensure statutory compliance of the site Support Health and Safety and Environmental site certifications as required Support the HSE Audit function What You'll Bring To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise/ talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes: Essential Skills: HSE qualification at certificate level (NEBOSH certificate or equivalent) within appropriate discipline Experience in Health, Safety and Environment, preferably within a manufacturing environment Understanding of industry, national and local HSE requirements Excellent communication and people skills, with ability to lead and influence Proficient with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Desirable Skills: Understanding of ISO certifications (14001, 50001, 45001) What We'll Offer Once you’re on board you’ll get the following perks and benefits: Competitive salary dependent on experience Industry Leading Pension Scheme = we’ll match your contributions up to 8% on a 1 : 1.5 basis Life Assurance 8 x salary Access to a salary sacrifice EV scheme giving tax and national insurance savings 25 days holiday + bank holidays Flexible working hours including the ability to finish at 12noon on a Friday Income protection Shopping discounts Cycle To Work Scheme Employee Assistance Programme Virtual GP Clinic for you and immediate family A collaborative, dynamic working environment Apply GKN Aerospace Other Manufacturing 69 Reviews 76 Jobs The company is part of Company Profile In Short Industry Aviation & Aerospace Founded 1759 Location Worldwide Company size 1000+ Making Aerospace Fit for the Natural World.
