Job Description - Site Manager

Site Manager

Rochford, Essex

Permanent, Full time (47.5 hours) 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday

£48,000 - £54,000 per annum, (£19.43 - £21.86 per hour) plus, overtime paid at time and a half and company van and further training opportunities

Our client is a specialist drainage service provider delivering safe, compliant and high-quality solutions across the Southeast.

As Site Manager, you will oversee multiple teams of Team Leaders and Operatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You’ll focus on management, coordination, and compliance rather than manual tasks.

This Site Manager opportunity is ideal for an experienced deep-drainage professional ready to step into a leadership role overseeing on-site teams and driving project excellence. You will manage multiple crews of Team Leaders and Operatives, ensuring each scheme - from deep drainage installations to manhole construction and routine maintenance - is set up correctly, delivered to spec, and completed on schedule.

About the role:

  • Lead and support Team Leaders and Operatives across deep drainage projects
  • Coordinate site setup, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Maintain accurate site paperwork and reporting
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in a lead or supervisory role within deep drainage and groundworks
  • Strong understanding of drainage operations and regulatory requirements including safety practices and site workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop operational teams
  • Hands-on experience and the aptitude to step into challenging situations

Essential Qualifications

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid Level 2 (minimum).
  • Full UK driving licence with zero points ideally but, up to 6 points could be considered.

Desirable Qualifications (Training Provided if Needed)

  • Confined Spaces.
  • EUSR SHEA (Water/Utility)
  • Dumper Ticket
  • 360 Excavator
  • Cat & Genny
