Site Manager - Civil Engineering / Infrastructure

£300-£350 per day (CIS)
40-60 Week Contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join our team on a long-term contract delivering infrastructure and construction projects.

Rail experience is not essential. We welcome applications from Site Managers with a strong background in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure who are looking to transition into the rail sector.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of site operations.
Lead Health, Safety and Environmental activities, ensuring full compliance on site.
Prepare and manage site safety documentation, including WPPs, TBRAs and permits to work.
Deliver site safety briefings and maintain all HSE records.
Manage labour, plant and materials to ensure efficient project delivery.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports, timesheets and plant records.
Monitor site competencies and maintain appropriate documentation.
Liaise with clients, consultants, designers and the commercial team.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Monitor programme progress and support successful project delivery.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Manager, General Foreman or Site Supervisor within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
SMSTS qualification.
CSCS Manager's Card.
HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline is desirable.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and site management.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work activities.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
PTS certification is advantageous but can be supported where required.
