About this Role:

Experienced Site Manager required by this established regional main contractor to join their delivery team across Basingstoke and Newbury.

You will initially join a £5m industrial scheme in Basingstoke, helping take the project through its final stages to completion in March 2027.

Following this, you will move onto a £12m business park development in Newbury, comprising three separate buildings including an MOT centre, auction house and medical manufacturing/testing facility. Groundworks and piling are underway, with the successful Site Manager involved through the remaining construction works and full internal fit-out.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will have either a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager working beneath you and will take meaningful responsibility across the project rather than managing one individual package.

Responsibilities will include managing subcontractors, short-term programming and coordination of works, health and safety, quality control, monitoring progress against programme, client and consultant liaison, snagging and handover.

The opportunity is with a privately owned regional main contractor established in 2005, delivering projects across the Central South of England.

The business operates across a broad range of sectors including industrial and manufacturing, commercial, education, healthcare and public-sector projects, delivering both new build and refurbishment schemes.

With a strong level of repeat business and a predominantly Design & Build workload, the company places significant emphasis on long-term client relationships, collaborative delivery and developing its people.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will be an experienced Site Manager with broad building-project experience and the ability to operate effectively as a strong No.2 to the Project Manager.

Main-contractor experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other relevant construction backgrounds will be considered where their experience and level of responsibility are transferable.

You will ideally have experience across several stages of project delivery, including groundworks, structural works, internal fit-out, finishing and handover, alongside subcontractor management, programme responsibility and health and safety.

Previous industrial, warehouse or commercial-unit experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will possess strong organisational and communication skills, good technical knowledge and the ability to plan ahead, identify issues and take responsibility for driving works forward.
