Site Manager/Residential Site Manager

Location: West Chichester, West Sussex
Salary: £80,000 + 5% Bonus + £6,500 Car Allowance + Pension
Start: January 2027
Position: Permanent

An established small to medium-sized residential developer is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a major new residential development in West Chichester.

The development will consist of approximately 200 traditionally built homes and is expected to run for around six years, offering excellent long-term security for the successful Site Manager.

The scheme will be delivered across two phases. Phase One comprises approximately 130 traditional house types, while Phase Two will introduce a mixture of further housing, chalets and bungalows.

The Role

This is very much a hands-on Site Manager position. Our client are looking for someone who enjoys being out on site, driving standards and managing the build rather than spending the majority of their time behind a desk.

Reporting into the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the development, with a strong focus on build quality, health & safety and programme.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day construction programme

Coordinating and driving subcontractors and trades

Maintaining excellent standards of health & safety

Ensuring consistently high build quality across the development

Monitoring progress against programme and addressing potential delays

Carrying out regular site inspections

Working closely with technical, commercial and customer care teams

Ensuring plots are delivered to the required standard and programme

Creating a well-organised, safe and professional site environment

About You

Our client are particularly interested in speaking with Site Managers who take genuine pride in the quality of the developments they deliver.

Ideally, you will have:

Strong traditional housebuilding experience

A proven track record managing residential developments

NHBC Pride in the Job award-winning experience or experience delivering sites to an equivalent standard

A strong understanding of health & safety

Excellent attention to build quality and presentation

Strong subcontractor and programme management skills

A visible, hands-on management style

The ability to build and maintain a positive site culture

SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS
