Site Operative

Location: Near Basingstoke
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 48 per week (12-hour night shifts, 4 on / 4 off, incl. weekends)

Best Time Ltd is looking for a reliable and hands-on Site Operative to join the team at our busy recycling and energy recovery site. This is a physically active role where you’ll be directly involved in the intake, handling, and processing of food waste — helping to build a greener, more sustainable future.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the intake, sorting, and loading of food waste
• Operate and monitor machinery (full training provided)
• Carry out site maintenance and operational tasks
• Keep the site clean, tidy, and hygienic
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols
• Take part in the call-out rota and occasional remote process monitoring

• A positive, safety-conscious attitude
• Experience in waste, recycling, or industrial environments (preferred, not essential)
• Willingness to learn and get stuck in
• Full UK driving licence and own transport (no public transport to site)
• Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts (training will be on days)
