Job Description - Site Operative - Water Treatment Works
We are looking for a
Site Operative with experience of working with a variety of chemicals
to carry out cleansing duties at
The Water Treatment Works located in Heigham near Norwich .
The role will include cleaning of the works as well as the
cleaning of membrane filters and purification equipment.
The successful applicant will conduct work to
clean membranes to prevent the accumulation of foulants.
To carry out the role, you may be
working with acidic solutions, alkali solutions, and biocides such as chlorine or peroxide.
The complete cleansing cycle will include rinsing and disposal of chemicals and cleaning effluent which may be regulated to prevent chemicals entering waterways.
The successful candidate will be able to work unsupervised after full training, have a good understanding of working with a wide variety of cleaning chemicals and be willing to follow strict Health & Safety regulations.
Apart from the knowledge of working with chemicals, previously, experience is not necessary as
full training will be provided
There will be some
manual handling
involved so
you will need to be physically fit
to carry out this role which will include, b ending and lifting.
This role will be, atleast, until the end of September working full time, 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm.
In return, this position offers an hourly rate between £12.50 per hour and £13.46 per hour dependent upon experience. ( Between 26K and 28K per annum DOE ).
After 3 months you will be entitled to a contributory pension scheme. Full PPE will be provided prior to commencing work on site.
