Role Overview
The Site Purchasing Assistant will support the procurement and supply chain function on a large-scale nuclear new build project. Working closely with procurement leads, site teams, and suppliers, the role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services to support site delivery while maintaining compliance with project procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Raise and process purchase orders in line with project procedures and approval workflows.
• Support the procurement team with sourcing materials, plant, and services required for site operations.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, track orders, and confirm delivery schedules.
• Monitor order progress and resolve any discrepancies relating to delivery, quality, or invoicing.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure documentation is compliant with audit requirements.
• Assist with goods receipt processes, ensuring materials are logged correctly within site systems.
• Support invoice verification and reconciliation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Coordinate with site teams (construction, engineering, stores) to ensure material requirements are met.
• Maintain stock control awareness and assist in managing site inventory where required.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, commercial controls, and nuclear compliance standards.
Experience & Qualifications
• Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role within construction, engineering, or industrial environments.
• Familiarity with procurement systems (SAP or equivalent) and purchase order processes.
• Experience supporting invoice reconciliation and supplier coordination.
• Strong organisational and document control skills, with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience in a regulated or large-scale project environment desirable.

Additional Requirements
• Willingness to work on a site-based, safety-critical environment.
• Security clearance (e.g., CTC) may be required.
• Ability to work within structured project and procurement governance frameworks.
