Job Description - Site Reliability Engineer - Linux/Windows

Job DescriptionThe key aim of this role is to support PoS (Point of sale) devices (Windows and Linux based) that are used by our customers across multiple locations and regions. This extends to building Operating System images for PoS hardware using the SLEPOS toolset from SUSE and Ivanti for windowsThis also includes the collation, installation and testing of device drivers to multiple PoS peripheral devices and ensuring these peripherals function correctly. Several of our largest customers rely on Flooid to manage their PoS estates and PoS management is a critical part of our Managed Service offering.Responsibilities:· Building operating system images for PoS hardware using the SLEPOS toolset from SUSE and Ivanti EPM for Windows· Managing PoS till systems & installing client bespoke POS software · Configure PoS software on new hardware and generating images to allow customers to repeat such builds · Diagnosing problems, including troubleshooting, defect fixing and change implementation as required· Program in JYTHON and python, Unix & Windows Batch and Powershell scripts and SQL for maintenance and installation functions· Generate professional technical and non-technical documentation· Convey technical information at an appropriate level dependant on the target audience· Participate in technical workshops to scope IT and business / operational projects· Help to support the execution of System User & Integration Testing in all system enhancements and changes· Help to support the full end to end change management process for all IT changes· Support and manage GCP build (active MQ / Tomcat) using bitbucket / Jenkins repositoriesWe want our people to embrace opportunities and to grow with our business.
