Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join our client's expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with strong leadership skills and a proven background in managing mechanical installation projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within specification, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors and site teams, maintain excellent communication with senior management, and play a key role in driving project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of construction sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and programmes.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards.
- Lead, motivate, and develop site teams to achieve daily and weekly project targets.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential delays and communicating issues proactively to senior management.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure only competent, trained, and authorised personnel undertake site activities.
- Maintain clean, organised, and professional work environments across all project sites.
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards and company quality processes.
- Manage site resources, equipment, and allocated budgets effectively to maximise productivity and value.
- Build positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Lead by example, promoting professionalism, teamwork, and company values at all times.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards, including ISO 14001, equality, sustainability, data protection, and company policies.
Requirements
- Degree in Construction Engineering or a related discipline or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Site Supervisor role.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Site Supervisor position if qualified to degree level.
- Proven ability to manage construction sites and make effective operational decisions.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering installation practices.
- Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and statutory procedures.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Knowledge of the UK construction market, ideally within healthcare projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
