Civils General Foreman / Site Supervisor

Location: Hartlepool / North East England
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum

CDM Recruitment are working with an established civil engineering contractor based in Hartlepool, who are looking to appoint an experienced Civils General Foreman / Site Supervisor to join their team.

The role will involve supervising civils projects across the North East, with a particular focus on the water and wastewater sector as part of AMP8 programmes.

The Role

You will be responsible for supervising site activities, managing subcontractors and site teams, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently, and maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering construction, ideally with experience supervising groundworks, drainage, utilities, concrete or associated infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day civils works on site

Manage and coordinate site teams and subcontractors

*

Ensure works are delivered to programme, specification and quality standards

*

Conduct toolbox talks, briefings and site inductions

*

Ensure RAMS and health & safety procedures are followed

*

Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers, clients and subcontractors

*

Monitor site progress and report any issues

*

Assist with planning and sequencing of works

*

Maintain site records and relevant documentation

*

Ensure a strong safety and quality culture is maintained

About You

*

Proven experience as a General Foreman, Civils Foreman, Site Supervisor or similar

*

Strong civil engineering construction background

*

Experience supervising site teams and subcontractors

*

Good understanding of health & safety and site procedures

*

SMSTS / SSSTS and relevant site qualifications

*

Strong communication and organisational skills

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Water / wastewater experience is highly desirable but not essential

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civils supervisor looking to join an established contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the North East.

£55,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
