Job Description - Site Trainer

Location: Near Saffron Walden (Own Transport Required)

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £33,228 DOE

Working Hours

* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

* Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm

Our client is a leading global manufacturing company within the food and additives industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Site Trainer to join their busy manufacturing facility in Saffron Walden.

Job Purpose

Develop and deliver training programs to production staff, covering manufacturing processes, safety, and quality standards, while also creating training materials such as job aids and SOPs, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with management to identify and address training needs.

Main Duties

* Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, process manuals, and presentations.

* Conduct on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and other training methods for new and existing employees, focusing on production, quality, and safety requirements.

* Coach shift team members in key manufacturing activities using one-point lessons (OPLs).

* Evaluate employee performance during training, provide constructive feedback, and ensure employees meet performance targets and required standards.

* Partner with production, quality, and technical teams to identify skill gaps and training needs, ensuring training aligns with operational changes.

* Induct new starters to the site, ensuring they fully understand their roles and responsibilities.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of production and environmental, health and safety (EHS) changes within the factory.

* Update the skills matrix and maintain training certification records for all employees, ensuring all information is accurate.

What We Are Looking For

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, quality systems, and relevant company software.

* Strong ability to communicate complex information in an engaging and accessible manner for a variety of learning styles.

* Ability to adapt learning resources to meet the needs of a diverse workforce and promote inclusive learning.

* Excellent communication skills.

* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable

* Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

* Previous experience in a similar role.
