Job Title: Skills Coach – Residential Childcare

Location: Newcastle

Salary: £32k

Job Purpose:

Skills Coach – Residential Childcare. To provide high-quality coaching, assessment, guidance and developmental feedback to learners, ensuring they make timely progress, achieve their qualifications and meet agreed performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Enrol and induct learners in line with company procedures and funding requirements.

* Manage a caseload of learners, monitoring progress and supporting timely achievement.

* Provide regular one-to-one coaching, guidance and support to learners and employers.

* Complete initial and ongoing skills assessments and develop appropriate learning plans.

* Plan, deliver and assess learning, ensuring knowledge, skills and behaviours are effectively developed.

* Maintain accurate learner records, e-portfolios, contact logs and evidence of learning.

* Review and provide constructive feedback on learner work within agreed timescales.

* Support learners with End Point Assessment preparation and ensure they understand EPA requirements.

* Monitor and support off-the-job training requirements for apprentices.

* Work closely with employers to review progress and agree SMART objectives.

* Provide additional support and adapt delivery for learners with identified learning needs.

* Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2 where required.

* Deliver commercial training within areas of occupational expertise.

* Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety and data protection.

* Attend standardisation meetings, observations, training and CPD activities.

* Participate in team meetings, quality assurance activities and company events.

* Manage workload effectively and meet agreed KPIs, deadlines and quality standards.

Person Specification:

Essential qualifications include:

* Level 3 teaching qualification, such as PTLLS or Award in Education and Training.

* Level 3 assessing qualification, such as CAVA, TAQA or equivalent.

* Relevant occupational/vocational qualification.

* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

* Experience within the relevant occupational sector.

* Experience of delivering training, coaching and assessment.

* Knowledge of vocational qualifications and relevant industry standards.

* Experience of working to targets and deadlines.

* Ability to provide effective and constructive feedback.

* Understanding of safeguarding, equality, health and safety and relevant legislation.

* Ability to set SMART objectives and monitor learner progress.

* Ability to conduct holistic assessments and sign off learner achievement.

* Commitment to quality and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Additional Requirement

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required, with appropriate business insurance.
