The European People Partner team is composed of skilled HR professionals supporting all our Technicolor Creative Studios businesses throughout Europe (Belgium, France, Germany & UK).
We are looking for a European Film & Episodic VFX (FEV) People Partner to join the team and support our Film & Episodic business. This role is based in our London office in Soho.
The European Film & Episodic VFX (FEV) People Partner is responsible for guiding and managing the HR strategy. The FEV People Partner role is to work with the Business leadership team to deliver an effective company culture whilst ensuring alignment to our global framework and strategy; this includes planning, overseeing the local implementation of objectives as well as managing financials and driving business levels of Talent related processes across a brand.
This role covers all our studios throughout Europe: MPC Film London, MPC Episodic London and MPC Episodic Berlin.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leadership
- Be a key partner to the business leader of the local studio
- Be a mentor, ambassador and representative of the culture
- Facilitate leaders and ensure management walk the talk and are held accountable for their respective area
- Support senior management and leadership teams in order to meet or surpass objectives that are in line with global direction
- Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that arise, including developing an internal comms strategy with Marketing and Leadership for the studios
- Talent Management and Development
- Strategize on the need to identify and retain talent (in the right space at the right time for the right cost), as well as identify skill gaps, high potential employee and conduct succession planning in a highly competitive environment
- Manage the annual salary review process and succession planner. Ensure we have sufficient talent coverage for our growth plans.
- Manage and oversee internal training programmes - i.e. Production Pathway, management, creative.
- Partner senior management team to coach and guide in talent attraction, retention and development, contract and policy application, performance management, training and development, and compensation practices
- Work in collaboration with our Global People Services (GPS) team in Bangalore to drive the service delivery, company policies, procedures and employee experience
- Representative of the whole of the Talent function, including work in collaboration with Recruitment, L&D on global initiatives ensuring they implemented, but also to ensure the business requirements are met and communicated
- Manage talent development initiatives such as apprenticeships, kickstart scheme, work experience placements, job center partnership, assessment days.
- Lead studio onboarding.
- Engagement and Proposition
- Link with Marketing and leadership on the local studio engagement and communications strategy
- Ensure management has a key understanding of employee engagement and the impact on the bottom line
- Architect global talent strategies around engagement and employee experience to drive the commitment and energy that employees bring to work, which impact attraction and retention
- Supporting the Balance Leader and committee with events alongside Head of Studio. This covers (but not limited to) LGBTQ+, Mental Health, BLM, Gender diversity, neurodiversity.
- Manage the monthly Studio Staff Forum; setting the agenda and ensuring any meeting points are actioned.
- Manage the Hybrid working strategy.
- Compensation, Financial Management, Workforce planning and ER
- Maintain and manage labour budgets, including pay review cycles, labour forecast and bonus management
- Management of other spend within the talent group for the studios
- Work with workforce planning and GPS to oversee high volume cycle of contract ending/renewals in the context of changing work demands, options with management and immigration implications
- Ensure there is a holistic view of the demands and actions from labour management perspective
- Manage reporting on all these point to Senior Management Team and global leadership teams.
- Manage any ER cases and escalate accordingly.
