Job Description - Smart Metering Commercialisation Lead

Smart Metering Commercialisation Lead (37 hours per week, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract)



Location: Contractual base in Pearl House, Peterborough with hybrid working opportunities and occasional travel to Salvus House, Durham


Salary: £39,387 - £45,178 (pro-rata) plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 8% of annual salary


Job Level: C


Reporting to: Head of Water Efficiency Services

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL


Wave’s Water Efficiency Services team is tasked with delivering a range of value adding and ancillary services to help Wave’s business customers reduce their water consumption and play their part to address water scarcity and adapt to climate change.


Smart meter installation programs are accelerating across the next 5 years, with smart meters expected to bring a raft of benefits to Wave’s business customers, including more accurate bills, alerts for signs of leakage (such as presence of continuous flow) and the ability to monitor water consumption to a far greater level of granularity.



As Smart Commercialisation Lead you’ll play a pivotal role in maximising the potential of smart meters, developing Wave’s approach to how granular consumption data will be made available and presented to customers.


If you’re an independent, commercially astute, self-starter with an eye for detail and passion for delivering an excellence experience for customers, then this could be the role for you.



Please note- this is a fixed term role on a 12 month basis.



WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?



  • Proactively engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders (including Wave employees, end customers and water wholesalers) to gather a range of requirements for a technical data presentment solution

  • Undertaking market research to understand customer willingness to pay for granular data presentment

  • Work with Wave Digital and Change teams to secure internal funding and support for the development of a means to share granular consumption data with customers

  • Developing an end to end sales process for granular data working with Wave’s Legal and Marketing teams to develop robust set of terms and conditions and engaging external communications.

  • Embed new sales process into Wave BAU via development and delivery of training materials


 


WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?


Skills/ Experience



  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK water industry and Non Household water market

  • Knowledge and understanding of granular data presentment solutions

  • Experience of managing of third parties (contractors)

  • Fully IT literate and competent in the use of MS Office products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort and experience in talking to a wide range of audiences over telephone and email communication

  • Ability to build rapport with stakeholders via remote communication (phone/email)

  • Self starter with ability to work independently

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • 5 GCSE’s (Grade C or above) or equivalent including Maths
