SMT Technician

Surface Mount, Pick and Place, Soldering, Machine Operating, IPC

SMT Technician Requirements:

• SMT Machine operating & running experience is essential - such as Pick & Place machines, screen printers, reflow ovens and AOI machines
• Experience in loading, setting and operating these machines with components and PCB's
• Experience of through-hole machine soldering
• Good component recognition skills
• Experience of basic SMT machine programming would be beneficial but not essential
• Ability to work from circuit and engineering diagrams
• Any Europlacer experience would be beneficial, but is not essential

SMT Technician Responsibilities:

• Loading, setting and operating SMT Machines
• Checking the kitting of SMT parts and setting up the feeders
• Surface mount component hand placing and soldering
• Surface mount inspection, some rework and repairing broken / faulty components
• Checking & self-certification of own work
• Occasional cable assembling when required
• The willingness to cover other departments and roles when required
