Social Media Manager - Sport

We are seeking a bold and ambitious Social Media Manager, who has been at the heart of successful teams that make and manage content people talk about and share.

Obsessed with social platforms and how they work, you will know exactly how to provoke strong reactions from an audience will share these passions with your colleagues at Whisper.

You will run the team that community manages the social accounts of our client, shaping the strategic direction of the content, defining the tone of voice and speaking directly to their audience.

What we’re looking for:

• An individual with demonstrable experience of running social media accounts for a major sports organsiation.


• Someone who has worked in a live sport environment and be comfortable commissioning the posting and scheduling of large volumes of content across different platforms.


• A leader who can be a mentor for a team of social media executives, unlocking their creativity and pushing them to challenge themselves.


• You’d be someone who devours sports content, spots trends, has strong editorial judgement and entertaining writing skills.
  
  

Your Mission:

• Work closely with our Digital team to manage YouTube and Social channels.


• Dream up and execute cutting-edge content that dominates social feeds and helps our client meet their goals.


• Manage the schedule of day-to-day posting and content scheduling across the channels.


• Stay ahead of online trends and sports stories, becoming our go-to expert on what’s next in sport social media.

• Coordinate comprehensive live match-day coverage across platforms - real-time score updates, graphics, key moments content, and anything that will increase the audience for our client.

The Skills You Bring:

• A deep understanding and passion for sport culture, player and fan dynamics that fuels engaging, dynamic clips and stories for social media.

• Strong knowledge of platforms such as YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok


• Strong content instincts, understanding of internet culture, memes, and digital storytelling


• Willingness to learn and develop skills in a Digital Production environment

• A knack for creating shareable content tailored to each platform’s vibe.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Basic working knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro and cloud-clipping platforms (WSC, Grabyo, etc)

Location:

The base for this position is Kew, London.

Working Days:

5 day week, x4 days in office and x1 day WFH

You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirement.

There will be evening and weekend work based around live sport fixtures, and this fixture list will form the basis of the team’s working rota.

Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day week.

Whisper offer the option of flexitime hours subject to production requirements.
