Children's Social Worker – Safeguarding & Support



Contract: Permanent












Location: Multiple locations – Ross on Wye, Leominster, Hereford











Hours: 37 hours

Summary



Are you driven to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families? We are seeking dedicated Social Workers to join our Safeguarding and Support teams. In this crucial role, you will engage directly with children, young people, and their families to foster meaningful, lasting change. By building trusting relationships, providing early help, and taking decisive actions when necessary, you will ensure the safety and well-being of children. Our approach emphasises collaboration with families, empowering them to overcome challenges while keeping the child's voice central to our efforts. Our Safeguarding & Support Teams



Our service comprises six teams across three locality offices: South Locality, North Locality, and Central Locality. Each team includes a Team Manager, Senior Practitioners, Social Workers, and Family Support Workers. Our restorative approach to social work is embedded in our team culture, emphasising collaboration and reflection. Senior managers are readily available for guidance, especially in complex cases.

This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks.

  • Work directly with children, young people, and families to create positive change.

  • Build trusting relationships and provide early help and support.

  • Take decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

  • Collaborate with families to empower them in overcoming challenges.

  • Maintain the child's voice at the centre of all actions and decisions.

  • Work within a supportive team environment to deliver high-quality services.

Requirements








  • Passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families.

  • Skilled in assessment, planning, and delivering interventions.

  • Committed to working collaboratively, inclusively, and creatively.

  • Resilient, reflective, and confident in making difficult decisions.

  • Able to work effectively within a supportive team environment.

  • Registered with Social Work England and hold a recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW).
