Job Description - Social Worker

Permanent Role with a local authority

Summary

As a Qualified Social Worker within Knowsley Children's Services, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children by working directly with children, young people, and families. Your primary purpose will be to assess needs, manage risks, and deliver effective interventions that lead to positive outcomes. This permanent role with a local authority is essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the community.

Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of children and families in accordance with statutory requirements and council procedures.

Undertake assessments of children and family needs, risks, and strengths.

Develop, implement, and review care and support plans to improve outcomes for children and young people.

Carry out safeguarding investigations and child protection enquiries where required.

Build effective relationships with children, young people, families, carers, and partner agencies.

Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, reviews, strategy meetings, and court proceedings.

Requirements:

Essential Experience Required
- Experience working within Children's Social Care.
- Experience undertaking assessments and managing a caseload.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a statutory setting.

Essential Qualifications Required
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.

Additional Information

Working hours: 36 hours per week

Salary: Â£42,839

Location: Nutgrove Villa, Westmorland Road, Huyton, Knowsley, L36 6GA, Hybrid Working

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full Time

DBS Check: Enhanced
