Social Worker - Fostering

£42,324 - £47,532 + £5,000 R&R | Hybrid Working | Barkingside, East London

Redbridge Council is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join our fostering service with a focus on the supervision and ongoing support of foster carers. This is an opportunity to build lasting relationships with carers, ensure high-quality placements, and be directly involved in improving outcomes for children and young people.

This role is best suited to someone who is confident in managing a caseload of foster carers, understands the complexities of foster care, and is passionate about placement stability.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide supervision and support to foster carers

• Attend placement planning meetings and statutory reviews

• Monitor standards of care and ensure compliance with fostering regulations

• Participate in carer training and support groups

• Promote placement stability and respond to carer queries and concerns

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with SWE registration

• Experience in children's social care, ideally in fostering

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to assess, plan and review effectively

• A child-centred, outcome-focused approach
