Job Description - Social Worker - Kinship & Private Fostering

Kinship & Private Fostering Social Worker
  • Location: Doncaster
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (36 hours per week)
  • Salary: £32,662 - £42,728

Join our dedicated team as a Kinship & Private Fostering Social Worker, where you will play a crucial role in providing stability and care to children through close work with kinship carers and private foster families. This position involves assessing and supporting carers, developing care plans, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the well-being and safety of children.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of kinship and private fostering arrangements to ensure they meet the children's needs.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans in partnership with carers and other professionals.
  • Provide ongoing support and advice to foster families, helping them to create a nurturing and stable environment for the children.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to safeguard the interests and well-being of children.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and organisational policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • BA or MA in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within a kinship or private fostering context.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professional partners.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Resilience and motivation to handle challenging situations and caseloads effectively.
