Social Worker - Safeguarding Provider Team adult social care - Urgent Hire

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Social Worker for its Safeguarding Provider Team, based in Kettering.

This is a hybrid role requiring 1 day per week in the office for duty plus a monthly team day.

Please see details below:

• Coming into the Safeguarding Provider Team, we deal with provider/organisational safeguarding’s, where the source of risk is a care home/hospital etc.
• We screen safeguarding’s at a concern stage but work on enquiries.
• These enquiries can be internal to the team or external where we request that the provider/organisation completed the enquiries and report their investigation and findings back to the safeguarding team.
• These are reviewed and we then make the professional decision as to whether we believe that they have taken the necessary and appropriate action to safeguard the individual it is about and potential other individuals that they support.
• We also run a duty function whereby there are a couple of workers who screen and work on the concerns that come in daily.
• We have a team of Business support officers and Business relation officers to support the running of the Safeguarding Provider Team from an admin and front door aspect.
• Due to the long-term sickness within the team and other reasons, there has been a back log of external S42’s that need to be reviewed and closed if appropriate.
• There would also be an expectation that the agency Social Worker would support the team on duty.

Requirements of the role:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Fully Social Work England registered
• Must have significant post-qualified experience in adult social care and specifically Safeguarding experience and expert knowledge.
