Sociology Lecturer

About the Role

TR2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced A-Level Sociology Lecturer to join a Further Education college.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging A-Level Sociology teaching, prepare learners for examinations and support students to achieve strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver high-quality A-Level Sociology lessons.

* Prepare students for A-Level examinations and assessments.

* Cover the relevant Sociology specification and examination requirements.

* Develop engaging teaching and learning resources.

* Assess learner work and provide effective feedback.

* Monitor student progress and put appropriate interventions in place.

* Support students with exam preparation and revision.

* Promote critical thinking, analysis and evaluation.

* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.

* Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental activities.

* Support safeguarding, equality, inclusion and college policies.

Requirements

* Degree in Sociology or a closely related subject.

* Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.

* Proven experience teaching A-Level Sociology.

* Strong knowledge of A-Level Sociology curriculum and assessment.

* Experience preparing students for A-Level examinations.

* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

* Commitment to supporting student achievement and progression
