We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join a high-achieving school in Northampton
starting in September. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Sociology at KS4 and KS5. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking department within a school rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The department is well-resourced and highly regarded, with a supportive and approachable Head of Department. We welcome applications from both experienced Sociology teachers and ECTs.

Experience and Qualifications

• A degree in Sociology or a related subject.


• 
  QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.


• A strong passion for teaching Sociology at both KS4 and KS5.


• Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering engaging and innovative lessons.


• The legal right to work in the UK.

Specific Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering effective lessons that meet the needs of all learners.


• Assessing and recording student achievement.


• Managing the classroom effectively to ensure a positive learning environment.


• Supporting students’ personal and academic development.


• Building positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents to ensure effective communication and progress.

Salary

The salary will be paid in line with the teacher pay scale (MPS/UPS), depending on experience.
