Our client, an established and leading company in the insurance sector, is hiring for a .NET Software Developer to join their team in Bristol.

They are embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey, transitioning from traditional VB.NET development to leveraging Power Apps and the Microsoft Dynamics platform to enhance their operations. This role offers a blend of traditional VB.NET application development and innovative projects utilizing Power Apps and Microsoft Dynamics.

About the Role:
As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications using VB.NET, as well as contributing to the company's digital transformation initiatives. Your work will involve a mix of traditional application development and projects utilizing Power Apps, including Power Automate and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software applications using VB.NET.
Utilize SQL for database management, including data entry, extraction, and backup.
Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test new features.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues efficiently.
Provide support to internal staff with software-related problems.
Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality standards.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the IT department during regular team meetings.
Ensure daily data backups and data integrity.

Essential Skills:
Knowledge of the .NET framework and related technologies.
Experience with VB.NET.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL Server databases.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.

Desirable Skills:
Experience with Power Apps, including Power Automate and Power BI.
Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies and development tools.
Knowledge of modern web development practices.
