Software Developer / Big Data Engineer

with

genuine expertise in Python

to work within a

fast paced Data team . You will

work very closely with

Quant Research, Trading, Quant Development and traditional ETL/ELT Data Engineering.

In this

latency sensitive trading environment , your work is intrinsic to the firms PnL. Your core focus will be on on the following areas, to enable the capture, ingestion, transformation, storage, and provision (up and downstream) of

large alternate datasets

covering

structured, semi-structured, and unstructured

API Layer
Central Data Platform
Telemetry tools
Bespoke Data tools for the front office teams

Post 18-24 months successful tenure previous individuals have moved internally into ....

Desired background and skills
3+ years of exp. as a Software Engineer / Big Data Engineer with an understanding of modern Data Architecture
Previous Finance experience is NOT essential , you will develop a deep understanding of multiple asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Options, and their respective market microstructures
Superb programming skills inc. Python

expertise inc.

expert understanding of the scientific stack

(Pandas, NumPy, SciPy), and knowledge of advanced concepts inc.

multiprocessing and asyncio , plus some

exposure to

high performance languages such as Golang, C++, C#
Expert understanding of

advanced Data Structures
Extensive API development

experience, inc. REST, GraphQL, et al
Strong SQL
Experience with

min. 2

of SQL Server, MySQL Postgres, and MongoDB, Redis, NoSQL
Cloud exposure

- any of AWS, Azure, GCP with former preferred
1st class (ideally, 2.1 considered) Degree / Master's (Distinction required)

in STEM field
Familiarity with

LeetCode / HackerRank

assessments
