What you’ll do As a Software Developer in our Integrations team, you will be a key player in the development and maintenance of our 3rd party API integrations using C#. You will be joining a dynamic team consisting of 4 Developers, 3 QA Engineers, and a Development Lead. Here’s what you can expect to do: Be involved in back-end software development, where you will have the opportunity to iteratively enhance and improve our Mercury 3rd party integrations and API offerings. Work collaboratively with Developers, QA Analysts, and Product Owners as part of an Agile development team to deliver quality software increments. Conduct code reviews to ensure that code quality and standards are adhered to. Work with the Product team to understand and refine requirements and agree on acceptance criteria in collaboration with the rest of the development team. Contribute to the evolving culture of innovation within the company.
Who you are You have 2+ years of commercial experience using C# to develop web APIs, with a strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID Principles. You practice clean coding techniques to produce readable and maintainable code, with great attention to detail and an emphasis on quality and standards. You possess strong analytical skills, able to translate use cases, user stories, and specifications into functional applications. You have experience working in Agile teams and with lifecycle management tools (like Jira or Azure DevOps). You have some experience with Unit testing (e.g., MSTest, NUnit), knowledge of source control (ideally Git), and exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines. You have experience with cloud technologies, ideally Azure, but this is not essential.
Location At Mercury, we believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration. That’s why we encourage our team members to join us at our Coleshill office 2 days per week. However, we’re all about flexibility, so we support remote work the remaining days if that’s your preference.
