Software Engineer

Title: Software Engineer.
Location: Remote, UK.
Salary: £50K - £55K + bonus.

Frankland Automation is excited to continue its partnership with one of the most recognised automation manufacturers globally. This time, we're looking for a Software Engineer, who will be responsible for designing and installing critical control-based software across several manufacturing-based industries in the UK.

Working nationally, the role will include adapting existing software and building control software from the ground up for customers where a plug-and-play solution just doesn't cut it. You'll work closely with project managers, application engineers, and the sales team to ensure that the system is hitting the manufacturing productivity goals the customer aims to achieve.

Additional responsibilities include:
Programming of logic, motion control functions, and the integration into the fieldbus communication.
Realising the desired machine functions within the PLC and/or Motion Controller. Creates Requirement Specification together with the customer.
On-site commissioning and training
Designs, develops, and tests platform-specific applications that are installed on a mobile device (i.e., native installation)

The role is based from home, including regular travel (20-40%) to customer sites across the UK, the company HQ, and partner sites.

What are we looking for?
3+ years of experience in a software engineer / controls engineer / technical engineer / similar function within the industrial automation industry.
Experience designing and installing control system solutions.
Based in the UK and doesn't require visa sponsorship.
Driving licence, and able to travel nationally 20-40% of the time.
