Software Engineer C#, .NET

Reed Technology is working with a leading institution located in Edinburgh, seeking a Software Engineer (C#, .NET) to join their team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will join our client's development team, playing a pivotal role in building and maintaining current and future applications and services.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust, web-based applications that meet company quality standards and business needs.
• Write high-quality, secure, and scalable code that aligns with architectural guidelines and functional requirements.
• Design and execute unit tests to ensure code reliability and maintain high standards of quality.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and development artefacts for both new and existing services.
• Translate business concepts and outline specifications into detailed technical and design documentation.
• Provide accurate time and effort estimates for development tasks to support project planning and resource allocation.
• Support the end-to-end delivery of development projects and maintenance releases, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality expectations—including during post-release warranty periods.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and proactively suggest innovations that could benefit the company.
• Conduct research and implement new technologies to support Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives.
• Offer technical support for testing and production environments, including direct interaction with external customers when needed.

Requirements:

• Ideally 5 years of software development experience leveraging the following tech stack:
  
  • C# and .NET 8 (or above)
  • ASP. NET
  • SQL Server
  • Restful API Development
  • JavaScript / TypeScript (ideally with React)
  • HTML & CSS
  • Cloud (ideally AWS)
  • Ideally some experience with authentication tools such as OAuth / OIDC.
