Excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Release Manager to join an excellent clients established team in Poole, Dorset. The Software Release Manager will own and coordinate the end-to-end software release lifecycle across multiple applications and environments. The role is responsible for ensuring releases are planned, governed, and deployed safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the business. Working across Engineering, Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Support, this person will manage release readiness, deployment coordination, risk, communication, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the software release calendar and deployment schedule. Coordinate releases across production, staging, UAT, and other environments. Manage release readiness reviews, approvals, quality gates, and Go-Live activities. Identify and manage release risks, dependencies, blockers, rollback plans, and recovery activities. Maintain release documentation, change approvals, deployment records, and audit trails. Coordinate technical teams during complex or high-risk deployments. Work with Engineering and DevOps teams to improve CI/CD, deployment automation, and release reliability. Communicate release schedules, risks, impacts, and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders. Monitor release performance and drive continuous improvement across release processes and tooling. Skills & Experience
Proven experience in Software Release Management, Deployment Management, or a similar software delivery role. Experience managing releases across multiple applications, teams, and environments. Strong understanding of the SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps, release governance, and change management. Experience with production deployments, hotfixes, rollback plans, and release risk management. Strong understanding of build and deployment pipelines and release automation. Excellent planning, organisation, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Ability to coordinate multiple teams and remain effective during high-pressure deployments. Strong focus on quality, operational stability, automation, and continuous improvement. Desirable
Experience with modern CI/CD and deployment tooling. Exposure to cloud, infrastructure, or containerised environments. Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
