Job Overview:

We are looking for a Software Engineer who has expertise on Programming Languages and Operating Systems, and be expected to work for Europe Consumer BG Standardization and Industry Development (EU-SID CBG). This work should cover all software tasks for CBG, including programming language, web technology, AI algorithm, intelligent car connectivity, mobile application development, open source, operating system core enabling technologies, and software-related ecosystem partnership.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Participate in meetings of international organizations, covering software, open source, and mobile OS domains, such as ECMA, W3C, OCX, etc., on behalf of CBG. Proactively contribute to innovation and evolution of CBG’s software technologies and standards (such as ArkTS/Cangjie, Atomic Services, Native HarmonyOS APP and Kits, Open Source Enablers).
2. Provide insights on software related novel technologies and new market regulations at global scale (with a focus on Europe), including major EU regulations (e.g.: DMA/DSA) which have impacts on software ecosystem for market fairness and openness.
3. Collaborate closely with CBG European and HQ departments for timely business alignment, as well for internal progress reporting, and external presentations. In addition, take the responsibility to define strategies and working plans.
4. Promote innovative applications, pilots, and implementation with EU partners, based on Huawei software technologies, and novel application development tools, contributing to CBG business success in Europe.
5. Support EU-SID CBG events/summits/workshops, relevant to Software/OS/Open Source.
6. Support technology cooperation with European academia and research institutes.
7. Support EU-SID CBG project management, budgeting, and internal coordination.

Competency Requirements:

1. Educational Background: major in software, computer science, with a master’s degree or PhD degree.
2. Insights and Analysis: be able to deliver insights reports based on news, policies, regulations, technology trends, and be excellent at presentation.
3. Application Development: be able to develop simple mobile applications in one of major platforms (iOS/Android/HarmonyOS), and understand software development lifecycle, and be familiar with development tools.
4. Communication Skills: have strong internal and external communication skills and collaboration abilities, and be able to work in a multi-culture environment.
5. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Chinese, both spoken and writing, proficiency in other languages is a plus.
