Software Test Engineer

Location – Hertfordshire, 3-4 days per week.

Salary – Up to £50,000 DoE.

Copello is working within a leading defence business and are looking for a talented Software Test Engineer to work on advanced simulation systems for defense applications. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-stakes projects that require precision, innovation, and dedication.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and execute software and systems testing activities.

* Develop test plans, test specifications and validation strategies.

* Investigate software issues and support fault finding activities.

* Analyse system data and logs to identify defects and verify performance.

* Support integration, demonstrations and customer trials.

* Produce clear technical reports and communicate progress to project stakeholders.

* Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout development and delivery.

Skills & Experience

* Experience in software testing, systems integration or verification & validation (V&V).

* Python scripting experience.

* Knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.

* Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, JIRA or similar development environments.

* Experience analysing software logs and system data.

* ISTQB certification or equivalent software testing experience is desirable
