Solar Electrician – Kent & South East

Low carbon Recruitment are working with a very well Established company who have been running since 2011. This renewables business has grown into a strong operation with engineers on the road, a busy sales team, and an in-house scaffolding division. They install domestic solar PV across residential properties and handle small commercial sites including care homes, schools and golf clubs, and have completed over 10,000 successful installations across the UK and EU

They are seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to join a growing renewables team based in Basildon, Essex. The ideal candidate will live within 10–15 miles of the Basildon office/warehouse and be comfortable working across private domestic properties and small commercial sites such as village halls, churches, golf courses and similar community buildings. The work is 80% domestic and 20% commercial

You will work as part of an established installation team, completing one full installation per day, with morning visits to the warehouse to load the van with larger materials before heading to site. This role offers clear progression into a Lead Solar Electrician position for those who demonstrate strong technical ability, reliability and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

Act as an electrically competent person within the installation team

*

Complete one full solar PV installation per day across domestic and small commercial sites

*

Attend the warehouse each morning to load materials and prepare the van

*

Install AC/DC components, inverters, optimisers, microinverters, battery storage units and EV chargers

*

Carry out electrical testing, fault finding, repairs and maintenance

*

Support with basic surveying, cable sizing and electrical design tasks when required

*

Work closely with roofing teams to ensure safe, efficient and tidy installations

*

Maintain strict adherence to health & safety standards

*

Deliver excellent customer service while representing the business professionally on-site

Qualifications

*

Solar Experience: Minimum 1 year installing Solar PV systems

*

Electrical Experience: Minimum 5 years domestic & commercial electrical work

*

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations + 18th Edition

*

Accreditations: BPEC/MCS solar qualifications advantageous

*

Cards: Valid CSCS or ECS Gold Card (IPAF beneficial)

*

Licence: Full UK driving licence + permanent right to work in the UK

*

Must live within 10–15 miles of Basildon (SS14) for reliable daily commuting

Salary Package

*

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (experience dependent)

*

Holiday & Pension: 28 days paid holiday + company pension

*

Company Vehicle: Van provided + fuel card (subject to licence status)

*

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm

*

Work-Life Balance: Occasional weekend work available but not mandatory

*
