Are you an experienced Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager from a construction background, ready to step into a pivotal role within the commercial solar sector?

This family-run business has been established for 15 years and is growing steadily in the commercial solar space. With 26 staff (plus subcontractors), they deliver large-scale solar projects across the South and Midlands. They're now looking for an Operations Manager to take full ownership of project delivery - overseeing PMs, driving standards, and ensuring seamless site execution.

The company offers training year-round and invests in people. For the right individual, there's genuine scope to grow with the business - potentially into a Director-level position - depending on performance and company growth. The last person in this role stepped away due to travel logistics, so they're keen for someone based within 30-40 miles of Hemel Hempstead who can be in the office at least twice a week.

You'll play a crucial role in shaping delivery strategy, supporting project teams, and representing the business at client level. A background in construction is essential, and while qualifications like 18th Edition are desirable, experience and the right mindset matter more.

• Lead and support Project Managers to ensure smooth delivery of commercial solar projects
• Liaise with clients, directors, and subcontractors to drive high-quality outcomes
• Visit and oversee sites across the South and Midlands, ensuring standards are met
• Help shape operational strategy alongside the Directors
• Hybrid working available - 2+ days a week in the Hemel Hempstead office

We're looking for:

• Strong background in construction, ideally with solar or renewables exposure
• 5+ years' project management or operations experience
• Experience-based candidate preferred; qualifications like 18th Edition or Agile a bonus
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Based within 30-40 miles of Hemel Hempstead
