Role: Soldering Technician  

Location: Wellingborough

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £15.38 an hour, weekly pay

Temporary Opportunity until Christmas - Immediate Start Available

OA are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Soldering Technician to join a well-established client based in Wellingborough, on a temporary basis to support the team.

Duties of a Soldering Technician:

Removal, replacement and reflow of BGA components using an automated hot air convection machine.
Surface mount land preparation for PCB and ICs using desoldering methods.
Reballing BGA ICs; removal of solder spheres then attaching new ones using automated equipment.
Visual inspection for any circuit shorts or insufficient solder after placement process using a microscope.
Carry out board modifications based on customer specifications
Maintain strict adherence to quality processes and highlight any gaps or improvement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and procedures
What we would like from you:

Experience with manual soldering methods on surface mount or through hole is required
Familiar with BGA rework principles is desirable.
Knowledge of IPC 7711/7721 standards will be useful.
Experienced in using a microscope
Proven experience in field service or electronics repair roles, especially with soldering or rework tasks.
Hands-on experience using hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, tweezers, and screwdrivers in electronics environments.
