Solicitor – Property & Development
Based at Gunpowder Mill, Waltham Abbey (HO)

As a qualified solicitor with a strong property background, you will work closely with the Legal Director and the wider team to provide high-quality legal services and strategic advice to the business. Your role will involve identifying legal risks, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with internal teams and external solicitors to support the company’s development and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Bids & Tenders – Provide legal support to the Bid and Development Team, ensuring all legal aspects of bids and tenders are managed effectively to achieve successful outcomes.
2. Land Acquisitions – Advise on and review acquisition contracts, title issues, and funding matters, ensuring risks are identified and addressed prior to Board approval.
3. Joint Ventures – Assist in structuring and negotiating joint venture agreements to facilitate successful partnerships.
4. Disposals & Plot Sales – Oversee the legal process for plot sales, liaising with external solicitors, supporting paralegals, and managing legal enquiries and post-acquisition matters.
5. Affordable Housing – Manage and advise on Affordable Housing Agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
6. Funding & Commercial Transactions – Provide legal guidance on funding arrangements and commercial sales, including contract and lease reviews.
7. Risk & Compliance – Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks and maintaining robust legal processes within the business.
8. Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with the Legal Director, Board, and external solicitors to manage legal matters effectively and support business objectives.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor with a strong background in property law.
• Experience in development acquisitions, disposals, and commercial property transactions.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management in a property development context.
