This role is responsible for managing a personal caseload of Wills, Probate, Tax & Trust matters whilst also supporting on more complex matters with senior members of the team.
Responsible for liaising directly with clients and ensuring a high level of client care is provided at all times.
This role reports directly to the Head of Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts.
Key Responsibilities for the Solicitor in Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts
* Manage a varied caseload of Wills, Probate, Tax & Trust matters that will include:
1. Providing general advice to clients on all aspects of Wills, Probate, Tax & Trust processes.
2. Preparing lasting powers of attorney.
3. Preparing deputyship orders.
4. Dealing with estate administration.
5. Advising on risks of death, divorce or bankruptcy in respect of lifetime gifting.
6. Advising on obtaining grants of probate.
7. Advising on letters of administration.
8. Settling estate liabilities.
9. Administering estates in accordance with the correct procedures.
10. Obtaining deputyship orders from the Court of Protection as required.
11. Acting on behalf of court-appointed deputies.
As well as managing a personal caseload of WPTT matters, this role is responsible for supporting on more complex matters alongside senior members of the team.
Ensure matters are kept up to date in systems and new advancements are communicated to the relevant team members.
Record all time in the Tikit system, including non-billable activities.
Take responsibility for managing the client experience. Attend client meetings where necessary.
Takes a keen interest in business development for the department and contributes where required.
Supports departmental audits as and when required.
Take on additional tasks as reasonably required by the Head of Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will:
You will have a minimum of 2 years PQE in a wills, probate, tax and trusts role.
Possess exceptional client care skills.
Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Be highly motivated and able to add value to the role.
Be able to demonstrate proactive management of matters with a minimum of supervision.
Be a team player and able to get on with others.
Possess networking and client development skills.
Disclosure will be required in the event that a position is offered.
Financial checks will be required in the event that a position is offered.
